The Progressive Care Unit on 4th Floor of EvergreenHealth Silver Tower, was quickly becoming an essential need in the community as well as a part of EvergreenHealth’s own 10-year master facility plan. The 4th Floor build-out achieved 31 beds as a new in-patient care unit. EH’s focus on healing and uplifting environments led the direction of design to incorporate new cutting-edge smart technologies, sustainable materials, restorative art forms, and specialty circadian overhead lighting that can promote well-being for both patient and caregiver alike.
Line-of-sight played a major role in fixture, nurse station, artwork, and equipment locations. Careful consideration was given to the visual elements to enhance identification of, not just the tower floor, but also the distinctive layouts for effortless navigation within the unit for patient and visitor alike. A bright neutral space encompasses the hallways and patient rooms while restorative art work is thoughtfully placed to provide lush blooms of color that soften the overall ambiance. Every step of the design process was tempered with EvergreenHealth’s desire to encourage compassionate care and experience for staff, patient, and community.
